Much-loved performer Pat Temple was scheduled in 2020 to return to the Sault with his full band, the HiLO Players.
Due to COVID, that tour was cancelled.
But Temple and his brotherhood of stellar players are now scheduled to be back in town for an afternoon of infectious and original music.
The players also feature Rob Foreman on bass, Brian Ferguson on drums and Dave Allen on violin and mandolin.
With 30 years of stage time to hone his craft, Temple has developed a unique style of music and is recognized as a mainstay in the Canadian live music scene.
Influenced by western swing, jump blues, rockabilly and roadhouse soul, the music is all original yet fits easily into the hearts of those who love traditional roots and folk sensibilities, show presenter Black Fly Jam says in a release.
"Pat’s compelling voice and lyrics add the colour to his songs; throw in a little spice of a theatrical carnival-barker, and the audience is hooked, and happy!"
As well as appearing at basically every major folk and roots festival in this country, Temple has been a feature act at huge venues — such as Massey Hall, The National Art Gallery, Canadian National Exhibition, and received positive reviews and interviews from CBC Radio, The Toronto Star, The Ottawa Citizen, The Winnipeg Free Press, The Vancouver Sun among others.
He has appeared live on MuchMusic television and CBC radio.
Presented by Black Fly Jam in collaboration with Algoma Conservatory Concerts, Pat Temple and The HiLo Players will deliver a matinee performance on Sunday, April 27 at 3 p.m. at The Loft at at Algoma Conservatory of Music, 75 Huron St.
Doors open at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $40 (includes all fees) available here.
