In a major U.S. studio first, Survivor: Cook Islands will be available on pay-per-view in Canada - CBS Paramount International Television licenses pay-per- view rights to Bell ExpressVu

HOLLYWOOD, California, September 15 - CBS Paramount International Television and Bell ExpressVu have reached an agreement to offer Survivor: Cook Islands on pay-per-view in Canada, marking the first major U.S. studio pay-per- view agreement for one of its current primetime series.

The deal was jointly announced today by Armando Nunez, Jr., president, CBS Paramount International Television and Gary Smith, president, Bell ExpressVu.

In making the announcement Nunez commented, "CBS Paramount is pleased to partner with Bell ExpressVu in this unprecedented deal."

"This is the first pay-per-view deal we've announced to make Survivor available on this new platform," Nunez said, "providing more opportunities for viewers to see and stay with the show."

"Bell ExpressVu is proud to be the first ever to make Survivor: Cook Islands available on pay-per-view," said Gary Smith, president, Bell ExpressVu.

"Working with CBS Paramount to bring this world-class show to Canadians coast-to-coast, is another example of how Bell ExpressVu continues to lead the industry by delivering the very best in content, choice and viewer flexibility," Smith said.

This is the first time in Canada a U.S. network television series can be seen the next day on pay-per-view.

Survivor: Cook Islands episodes will be available every hour on the hour from 6 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday on channel 401 following its Thursday broadcast on Global television in Canada at 8 p.m.

In addition, Survivor Rewind, which includes the most recent four episodes, will be available back-to-back on Wednesdays all day long.

ExpressVu subscribers will be able to watch commercial-free episodes.

Survivor: Cook Islands is hosted by Jeff Probst and produced by SEG, Inc.

Mark Burnett and Tom Shelly are the executive producers.

Doug McCallie and Kevin Greene are co-executive producers.

Survivor: Cook Islands is internationally distributed by CBS Paramount International Television.
