Photo exhibit of Searchmont's old mill opens tonight

The Art Gallery of Algoma is hosting a solo exhibit of images of the old mill in Searchmont.

An opening reception with an opportunity to meet the artist begins this evening at the gallery at 7:30 p.m.

"Sault Ste. Marie photographer Nicole Mattila, a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography has produced a moving series of images around the old mill at Searchmont," says a gallery media release. "Juxtaposing landscape and industrial ruin, cloud forms and grave markers, her work is laced with a sense of loss and renewal."

This is Mattila's first solo exhibition.
