From a tiny round stage in the middle of a little yellow tent, a seven-person Vague de Cirque performance troupe captivated an intimate Sault Ste. Marie audience. The Friday night showcase, featuring trapeze, roue cyr, Chinese pole, acrobatics, plenty of humour and more, was the first of four performances to be hosted throughout the weekend at the Machine Shop.
“We try to go as far as possible… in Canada to bring circus where there’s no circus,” Vague de Cirque co-founder Alain Boudreau told SooToday during an interview earlier this week.
“It’s very touching. Sometimes you meet people who never have access to circus or other arts, so they don’t know what to say. But you feel it. You’re bringing something to them and it’s really playful.”
