Jazz Sudbury Festival introduces new group rate for ticket purchases

SUDBURY, ON - For the first time in its history, the Jazz Sudbury Festival is offering a special group rate for large ticket purchases, as a way to thank Greater Sudbury and northeastern Ontario for its support of the festival.

From now until the festival, individuals, businesses, community groups and other organizations buying 20 or more individual tickets and/or weekend passes will receive a 20 per cent discount on each ticket or pass purchased.

(This offer does not include the special jazz cruises or the pre-festival film screening, Thursday, September 8).

With the special group rate, the price of a full weekend pass drops to 64 dollars from the regular price of 84 dollars.

Friday and Saturday night tickets will reduce to 32 dollars from the regular price of 40 dollars.

A day ticket for Saturday will cost 12 dollars, while a day ticket for Sunday will cost only 8 dollars.

The third annual Jazz Sudbury Festival is taking place September 9 to 11 on the grounds of Science North in Greater Sudbury.

Featured performers this year include Matt Dusk, Rita Chiarelli, Rich Underhill, Jane Bunnett and Ken Whiteley, in addition to over a dozen other jazz artists from across Canada and Greater Sudbury.

“We are very happy to be offering this special group rate, to thank our community for its incredible support of the festival,” says Carment Simmons, Executive Director of the Sudbury Community Foundation. “We also believe this special group rate will be a wonderful way to encourage employers, employees, co-workers, friends and family members to get together and enjoy a social outing together. So we’re looking forward to seeing groups of people coming together to enjoy some great music.”

To receive the special group rate, people are encouraged to bring in their order of 20+ tickets to the Sudbury Community Foundation office, at 96 Larch Street in downtown Greater Sudbury, or by calling 705-673-7770.

Orders of 20 or more tickets must be paid for as a batch in order to qualify for the special group rate.
