Bayliss Library to host Superior Poetry Café
SAULT STE. MARIE, MI - Bayliss Public Library will hold a Superior Poetry Café and Open Mic on Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. Janeen Rastall, from Marquette, will be the featured poet.
Janeen was a finalist this year for Poet Laureate of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Her poetry has appeared in various publications, including: The Raleigh Review, Dunes Review, Prime Number Magazine, Atticus Review, Heron Tree and The Michigan Poet.
She was nominated for a Pushcart Prize by Wayne State University Press (2013) and LSSU’s literary journal Border Crossing (2014).
Her manuscript From the Night Museum received an Honorable Mention in the 2014 Two of Cups Press Chapbook Competition.
She was the guest editor for the December 2014 issue of Stirring: A Literary Collection.
Janeen Rastall is a member of the Marquette Poets Circle and is the Poetry Society of Michigan Upper Peninsula Liaison.
Her new book, In the Yellowed House, will be available for purchase and signing at the library event.
After her reading, there will be time for the public to read or perform.
