Bartender Taryn Bugyra and owner Pat Casey put their happy faces on as they toiled one final evening away at Foggy Notions Saturday night.

"I'm not going to miss the extreme amount of hours I had to put in, but I'll definitely miss the bar, the people and the whole vibe," Casey said. "It was always a good bar. I'm really going to miss hosting good bands and watching people enjoy themselves."

He added: "All in all, I had a good time. It was a good learning experience and I had a blast."

With all of his new-found free time, Casey says he's going to read a book.

But building owner Dave Felton will have a lot less free time on his hands as he plans on re-opening the establishment under a different name Thursday, April 3.

"The name is going to disappear, but the bar will stay open," said the former proprietor of Stonewalls. "I own the building so I have a pretty fair idea that I could do it. It will be short term for me anyway, then someone else will take it over."

Although he was short on details, including who that "someone else" will be, Felton plans on giving the place a good once-over with a scrub brush before opening for business.

No renovations are scheduled to take place.

Josh Richards, better known to Foggy's regulars as Chops, the friendly yet fierce when he needs to be bouncer, is not as broken up about the closure as most Sault nightlife seekers.

"I'm sad about it, but in another way I'm happy it's going," he admitted. "It needs to go. It's run it's course."

Foggy Notions went out with a bang as hoards of loyal regulars and bar supporters rocked one last time to the driving beats of Driving Dave Home, a Foggy's favourite.

The band is decidedly upset about the bar's closure and the loss of one of very few live music venues.

"It's the end of an era and it sucks," said guitar player Ron Baxter. "I wish they'd stay open. We had a lot of good times here."

Hopefully Felton can keep the good times rolling so Driving Dave Home can keep rockin' and those who mugged for the SooToday.com camera can continue to make goofy faces for the world to see.
