Slammin' Friday Dance Night @ Stir

4th Annual Scavenger Challenge The scavenger Challenge is a city wide scavenger hunt. Participants compete in different "Challenges" and the top three teams receive prizes. Registration is 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Kewadin Casino - Tahquamenon Room with Race Rules/Instructions at 6:45 p.m.
The race starts at 7:00 p.m. Great Prizes!

Family Storytime @ Public Library Main Branch 10:45-11:30 am. This fun, free program shares fun stories and creative crafts with children of all ages and their grownups.

Sylvan Circle Artist and Artisan Tour 9am to 6pm
Artists invite you to spend a glorious fall day exploring the diverse artistry of our region. The complete tour is 100km long and is held in community halls and studios along a circle route including Echo Bay, Leeburn, Bruce Mines, and Laird. Each year approximately 40 artists and artisans participate, exhibiting a wide range of types of work. In addition, a number of exhibitors demonstrate during the day, and local groups provide food and drink at a number of the tour sites. Hospice of Chippewa County Bicycle Festival (Mich)
50, 30, or 10 Mile routes beginning and ending in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. This is on black top roads along the countryside. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with event times staggered with competitive riders beginning at 10:00 and 10:30 a.m. for the casual rider. Cause for Paws Walkathon 11am The Humane Society presents the Cause for Paws Walkathon at Kinsmen Hiawatha Park. Registration begins at 11 am, and the walk will be led off by the Sault Search and Rescue Canine Unit at Noon. There are door prizes and giveaways, lots of goodies including some for your dog. Terry Fox Run @ 12:30pm The mission of the Terry Fox Foundation is to maintain the vision and principles of Terry Fox while raising money for cancer research through the annual Terry Fox Run, memoriam donations and planned gifts. Registration will begin at the Roberta Bondar Pavillion at 12:30 pm and the walk/run/rollerblade will begin at 1 pm. BBQ to follow.

Battle of Britain Sunday 2006 marks the 61st anniversary of the end of World War Two. This year also marks the 66th anniversary of the annual Battle of Britain Memorial parade. This is the most important annual affair held by the 432 RCAF (Algoma) Wing, of the Air Force Association of Canada. The event will take place at the Sault Ste. Marie airport today at 1 p.m. sharp. The 155 Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron and The Royal Canadian Legion Band and Colour Party will be in attendance. Other items of interest include a fly past performed by members of the Sault College Aviation program and a World War Two military jeep. All are welcome to attend.
