Theatre Saint Mary's College shines in Sarnia

Theatre Saint Mary's College (SMC) had a successful performance and adjudication at the Theatre Ontario Festival in Sarnia this weekend with four awards and two important nominations.
Theatre Saint Mary's College (SMC) had a successful performance and adjudication at the Theatre Ontario Festival in Sarnia this weekend with four awards and two important nominations.

The Sault company picked up two Adjudicator's Awards for its production of That Summer.

Adjudicaor Virginia Reh gave Jennifer Gooderham an Outstanding Performance by Youth award and Meaghan Gardner an award for Outstanding Musical Contribution.

Theater SMC also snagged two Festival Awards.

It received the Best Technical Production and The Richard Howard Award for directors Joseph Lauzon and Loretta Durat.

Caleb Nault was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male and Shana Brown was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female.

The winner of the Outstanding Festival Production was Someone Who'll Watch Over Me by the Peterborough Theatre Guild from the Eastern Ontario Drama League.

Theatre SMC is the first "high-school-based" theatre company to play at Theatre Ontario.

"We are very proud of our entire cast and crew," said assistant producer Maria Burgess.
