About the movie

Hitting the festival circuit this fall and slotted for release in early 2008, Pocket Full of Soul: The Harmonica Documentary chronicles the evolution of this compact, intense and surprisingly diverse instrument.

From it's beginnings as a toy to a highly respected instrument, the harmonica's vast popularity is due in part to it's unique sound and portability and is now mastered by players around the globe.

Pocket Full of Soul documents players in the US, Italy, Germany and Taiwan and features interviews with dozens of musicians, including Huey Lewis, Taylor Hicks (American Idol), James Cotton, Clint Black, Magic Dick (J. Geils Band), Lee Oskar (War), John Popper (Blues Traveler) and Kim Wilson (The Fabulous Thunderbirds), just to name a few.

About the contest

The creators and producers of Pocket Full of Soul are offering players from around the world an amazing opportunity to have a song included on the soundtrack for the film with their contest, Operation Creation.

The contest is open to any player in any genre - blues, country, bluegrass, jazz, classical - it doesn't matter.

There are three very simple song requirements:

1. The phrase "Pocket Full of Soul" must be noticeable in the song somewhere, but does not have to be the title.

2. The song must feature the harmonica either as the primary instrument or in a killer solo.

3. The song must be average song length, no more than five minutes long.

Songs may be e-mailed to contest@pocketfullofsongmovie.com or mail a CD, tape or audio file to:

Omni-Harmonic, LLC.
12405 Venice Blvd. #151
Los Angeles, CA
90066

All songs must be received by July 31, 2007.
