- The 2022 Soo Greyhounds Season Opener Block Party happens on Queen Street East between Bruce and Dennis Streets from 4 to 7 p.m. The tailgate-style celebration will include food and refreshments, live music, games and more.

- The Soo Greyhounds face the North Bay Battalion in this year’s season opener at the GFL Memorial Gardens. The puck drops at 7:07 p.m.
- Bastards and the Buzzards from Ottawa are scheduled to play Outspoken Brewing, 350 Queen St. E. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, or $15 at the door.
- Wyld Stallyns perform at Shooters Lounge, 68 Dennis St., starting at 8 p.m.
- Indigenous Tourism Ontario will host a Weekend for Truth and Reconciliation Drone Show at the Silver Creek Golf Course in Garden River. At 9 p.m., the presentation will happen in Anishinaabemowin. At 10 p.m., the show will happen again in English. The show will be an intimate story entitled Mewnizha, a creation story to guide each individual's pathway to Truth and Reconciliation, featuring storyteller, Elder, and language keeper Barbara Nolan.

- The Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast returns to the Conservation Authority Sugar Shack (1100 Fifth Line E.) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Adults $10, seniors (65+) $8, children (6-12) $5, children (0-5) free. Cash only, please.
- Doors Open Ontario invites residents to explore the many historic building and sites in the Sault Ste. Marie area from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Local sites include Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig, Bishophurst, the Canal District, and more.
