CBC Radio is calling on all Canucks to help US president-elect Barack Obama inject a little great white north influence into his music playlist.

Nominations began January 5 for '49 Songs from North of the 49th Parallel' in an effort to create a collection of music that defines our nation's diversity and culture.

CBC Radio 2 has tallied those nominations down to a shortlist of 100 selections and, starting today, invite you to help choose the final 49.

Readers can vote only once per day in each of the four sections, so save the link and visit daily.

Voting closes at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, January 16, 2009.

The final 49 will be revealed on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
