VIDEO: Saturday night fever on the St. Marys River

A boatload of people broke out their bell-bottoms and tie-dye for a groovy good cause last weekend.

A 1970s-themed "Making Waves Cruise" hit the St. Marys River on Oct. 5, with money raised going to one of four local charities: the Soup Kitchen, Pauline's Place, Women in Crisis or THRIVE.

Cruise-goers — who dressed in their best yacht glam/disco outfits — began the night at Nothern Superior Brewing before a bus brought them to the Miss Marie Sault Lock Tours dock.

The cruise featured live disco music from The Saturday Nights and food from Bovingdon Barbeque.
