First Nation hosted family activities and a powwow at Rankin Arena on Saturday to mark National Indigenous Peoples Day

Batchewana First Nation held its National Anishinaabe Day celebration on Saturday, bringing both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people together for family activities and a powwow on Saturday.

The annual event was moved from its usual location on St. Marys Island to Rankin Arena due to the damp conditions outdoors.

Saturday's event coincided with National Indigenous Peoples Day, which sees First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities across Canada host cultural events each year.
