Here's what's open and closed this upcoming Easter weekend.

The following City facilities will be closed during the Easter holiday period – Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21:

• Cemetery office
• City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
• Fire Services Administrative office
• GFL Memorial Gardens administrative office
• Public Works and Engineering office – 128 Sackville Road. For 24-hour emergency service requests, call 705-759-5201.
• Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre – 99 Foster Drive
• Sault Transit main office

Garbage and Recycling Collection

There is no garbage or recycling pickup Friday, April 18. Friday’s garbage and recycling collection will be Saturday, April 19.

There is also no garbage and recycling collection on Monday, April 21. Collection the week of April 20 will be one day late.

The City’s landfill will be closed Friday, April 18 and Monday April 21. The landfill will be open on Saturdays beginning April 26.

The City’s Household Hazardous Waste Depot will open to the public for the season beginning April 22 and will operate Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Bay Street Active Living Centre 55+ — Closed Friday, April 18. Open Saturday, April 19, for scheduled programming; closed Sunday, April 20, and Monday, April 21.

GFL Memorial Gardens— Open for scheduled programming on Saturday, April 19, and Monday, April 21.

John Rhodes — Closed Friday, April 18, and Sunday, April 20. Open for scheduled programming on Saturday, April 19. Sledge skating is available Monday, April 21 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., adult skating from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. and public skating from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Marina — Bellevue Marina seasonal boat launch passes are for sale at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre Community Services office (lobby level). The cost is $70. Cash, debit, or credit card (in-person or over the phone) is accepted.  Passes can also be purchased online at http://ca.apm.activecommunities.com/saultstemarie/Activity_Search/16987

Northern Community Centre Arena — Closed Friday, April 18 and Sunday, April 20. Open for scheduled programming on Saturday, April 19, and Monday, April 21.

Northern Community Centre Community Space — Closed Friday, April 18 to Sunday, April 20. Open for scheduled bookings on Monday, April 21. No walking or Active 55+ programs on Friday, April 19, and Monday, April 21.

John Rhodes Community Centre Pool — The pool is open holiday hours Friday, April 18, and Sunday, April 20, with parent and child/lane swim 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and public swimming 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. Regular programming on Saturday, April 19, and Monday, April 21. Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site — Open Saturday, April 19 for Easter egg hunt activities. Register online at www.saultstemarie.ca/ECNHSevents. Closed Friday, April 18, Sunday, April 20, and Monday, April 21.

Public Libraries— All libraries will be closed on Friday, April 18, Sunday, April 20, and Monday, April 21. The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library and North Branch will be open on Saturday, April 19, for regular operational hours.

Transit Service — Transit and Parabus will not operate Friday, April 18. Regular weekend service for transit and Parabus runs Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, April 20. Regular weekday service resumes Monday, April 21. For transit information, call 705-759-5438.
