Sault Ste. Marie, ON – The Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce is partnering with SooToday and Algoma University to host an all-candidates forum for the upcoming provincial election. This debate will be held in Council Chambers at the Sault Ste. Marie Civic Centre and will be televised by Shaw and livestreamed on Sootoday on Tuesday, June 5 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
SooToday's Jasmyn Rowley will act as moderator for the debate. Questions will be posted on an alternating basis and each candidate will have the opportunity to rebut all questions asked. The candidates will have the opportunity to explain their platforms and answer questions before the election on June 7.
“This is a great opportunity for the public to voice what their expectations are of the representative that will be going to Queens Park. It is important that we ensure our candidates are aware of the need of the whole community and this forum is an excellent why to bring our community together. The Chamber is a strong supporter of the democratic process and encourages the citizenry of Sault Ste. Marie to exercise their inalienable right to vote,” said Rory Ring, CEO, Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce
Prior to the all-candidates forum the public will be asked to submit questions through SooToday. The Chamber and Algoma University will then consolidate these with questions from the business community.
Email info@sootoday.com to submit a question you would like the candidates to be asked during the debate.
