The Municipality of Huron Shores is monitoring Chevis Road, which is currently the only access route into the Dean Lake community. This follows the closure of the Dean Lake Bridge due to erosion concerns.

With rising river levels and rain in the forecast, conditions may change quickly. Residents are encouraged to be prepared in case Chevis Road becomes impassable. Residents should ensure they have sufficient supplies of food, water, medications, and fuel on hand.

Public Works staff are patrolling the area regularly, and municipal officials are coordinating with Emergency Management Ontario to ensure support services are ready if needed. Plans are in place to respond should conditions worsen.

Residents are encouraged to share this information with neighbours, friends, and family members. Updates will be posted on the municipality’s website and social media channels as they become available.
