NEWS RELEASE
ROTARY CLUB OF SAULT STE. MARIE
********************************
For the first time ever, the Easter Seals Telethon is holding a corresponding 50/50 draw in support of children and youth with physical disabilities. The telethon and the draw are being held by the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie on behalf of Easter Seals Ontario, an organization that has benefitted hundreds of children and youth in our community.
“This is a great addition to the telethon that will potentially add more funds to our overall goal for this year,” shared Angie DiGasparro, Rotarian and chair of the event, who hopes the telethon and Easter Seals kids will benefit from the extra exposure.
The winner of the 50/50 raffle will be drawn at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, live on air during this year’s telethon, but the big winner will be the kids. Easter Seals assists families with the purchase of essential mobility and accessibility equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, porch lifts and ramps, toileting aids and bathing equipment – each of which can cost thousands of dollars. The charity also runs two fully accessible summer camps – a place where kids with physical disabilities can participate, make friends and be themselves in a safe inclusive environment.
Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 705-254-KIDS during the telethon and requesting a 50/50 ticket.
