The former Peavey Mart space at 695 Great Northern Rd. will soon have a new occupant.
OCP Construction Supplies and Cousineau Concrete Pumping will move from its current location at 28 Industrial Court A into the former Peavey Mart building.
“We're getting the key to the building tomorrow,” Norm Pigeau, OCP Construction Supplies branch manager told SooToday on Tuesday.
“We have some renovations to do there. We're hoping to open in the next couple of weeks,” Pigeau said.
The move means a bigger location for OCP.
Its current space in Industrial Court A is 10,000 square feet whereas the new location is 32,000 square feet.
OCP specializes in the distribution of construction materials for contractors and project owners working in the fields of industrial, commercial, and institutional construction, infrastructure projects and residential construction and maintenance.
The company has had a presence in Sault Ste. Marie since 1984.
OCP currently has eight employees but it is anticipated that number will grow.
“With the growth that we're going to have with the exposure at that new location, there will probably be a need for some more jobs, hopefully at least a couple more,” Pigeau said.
OCP currently has locations in Sudbury, Timmins, and North Bay and recently bought a new location in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.
