Sault Police are reminding motorists not to pull over to the side of the road to check out today's eclipse.
"Plan a safe place to observe the eclipse ahead of time or carefully exit the roadway and park in a safe location away from traffic," the force said this morning in a social media post.
Although Sault Ste. Marie is not in the "path of totality," we will experience a partial eclipse that is expected to begin at 2:01 p.m. and be at its maximum from approximately 3:15 to 3:18 p.m. It will be finished by 4:26 p.m.
Police are also asking drivers to make sure their headlights are on during this time.
