Sault Area Hospital declared a COVID-19 outbreak in its 1B Unit on Friday.
“Visiting has been limited to essential caregivers only. Please reach out to your loved one's care team if you have questions,” SAH stated in a social media post.
Exceptions may be made if a person provides support for a vulnerable patient such as those under the age of 18, those with cognitive impairment, significant developmental and/or intellectual disability or who are unable to effectively communicate.
Exceptions can also be made if a person is caring for a patient at the end of life.
SAH declared the COVID-19 outbreak in accordance with provincial guidelines and in partnership with Algoma Public Health (APH).
