The Sault Area Hospital is currently experiencing delays due to an issue with the Electronic Medical Record system that is affecting hospitals across Northeastern Ontario.

This system plays a vital role in accessing important patient information, care plans and medical history.

"SAH is still experiencing technical issues with the patient Electronic Medical Record," the hospital said in a Facebook post at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

"Manual procedures may cause delays including in the Emergency Department. Patient safety is SAH’s priority and all emergencies will be prioritized.

"All clinics are expected to operate as planned tomorrow, April 11, 2025.

"This is NOT a cyber incident.

Our IT department is diligently working to restore our computer systems as soon as possible. SAH will keep the community updated as soon as our systems are restored."
