The Sault's airport saw an uptick in passenger traffic last month when compared to March 2024.
That's according to the latest numbers from the Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation, which says 13,321 passengers travelled through the airport in March of this year.
That's up from 12,835 passengers in the same month last year — a 3.8 per cent increase.
It's also an increase over the previous month, with 10,926 passengers recorded in February.
Passenger levels are still down 28.2 per cent from pre-pandemic 2019 levels, when 18,550 passengers travelled via the airport in March of that year.
The airport said the current flights provided are:
- Air Canada Express two flights daily
- Bearskin Airlines 3 flights Sunday, 4 flights daily Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 5 daily flights Wednesday
- Porter 2 flights daily Sunday to Friday and one on Saturdays
