Ticket sales for the annual Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie Take Your Pick Draw end Thursday night at 9 p.m.
The draw date is set for Dec. 27 with the goal of tickets being a good Christmas gift or stocking stuffer.
Draw co-chair Rod Goodall added that the early close to sales also gives volunteers a deserved break in the days before Christmas.
"It’s not uncommon for non-profits to give themselves time between closing ticket sales and their draw, but it is new for Rotary to have this long," Goodall said. "Some summers we are still entering tickets into the drum while it’s being brought down to the Rotaryfest stage."
Tickets remain available at 70 locations around Algoma though the number will get smaller Thursday morning as ticket books are collected and returned to the Rotary office.
“Depending on the needs of each location, we try to leave tickets at each outlet as long as possible,” Goodall said. “Our online tickets will be available right up to 9 p.m. tomorrow.”
Online tickets are available here.
Proceeds from the tickets support Rotary's work in the community.
Among the programs supported are the Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Sports Awards, high school and post-secondary scholarships, as well as local projects like the Rotary Adventure Playground, and partnerships with local charities including THRIVE Child Development Centre
