Representatives from Soo Mill made the donation presentation on Tuesday for the event, which is held in support of THRIVE Child Development.
THRIVE helps local children with physical, communication, and developmental difference and works with children and youths 18 and under along with their families. to strengthen their abilities and promote their participation as active members of the community.
“THRIVE Child Development Centre and the THRIVE Foundation are so grateful to Soo Mill and Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie for their unwavering support,” Lisa Henderson, THRIVE CEO, said in a prepared statement. “With the generous donations and the community support we can continue to provide excellent service enabling children and youth to achieve their goals, their hopes, their dreams and reach their full potential. We are so appreciative in Soo Mill’s belief in the work we do as the title sponsor for the Soo Mill Rotary Golf Classic.”
The funds will help THRIVE purchase material and equipment for their Assistive Communication and Writing Aids Clinic, providing funds for the Family Assistance Funds program, and making enhancements to specialty clinics and a potential outdoor therapy space.
“We are honoured to be able to help them continue this vital work," said Soo Mill president Joel Rowswell.
