Current details:
Winter weather travel advisory in effect.
What:
Reduced visibility due to a combination of snow and blowing snow.
Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm.
Strong wind gusts up to 80 km/h.
When:
Monday morning into Monday evening.
Additional information:
In addition to these hazardous travel conditions, a sharp cold front Monday evening at the tail end of this event may lead to sudden whiteout conditions and a sharp temperature drop.
A frontal snow squall warning may be required as the cold front draws nearer.
Due to the general high winds expected, these winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Power outages are also possible.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.
Avoid travel if possible. If you must drive, be prepared for areas of poor visibility.
