Rod Bolduc Jr. outlasted some swift competition to claim the checkered flag in the late model feature at Laird International Raceway on Thursday night.

Bolduc, pictured, was one of four late models on the third night of racing to battle bumper to bumper through both 12 lap heat races and the 25 lap feature.

Jason Praysner, the night's fast qualifier, along with Michael Gold and George Wilson, who had his new car in much better shape this night, all had strong nights behind the wheel.

After a caution on lap 21, Bolduc held the pole on the restart and outlasted a hard charging Gold for his third career feature win at LIR. Wilson finished third, Robert Hiiemaa fourth and Praysner fifth.

Gold opened the night on top of the field with a win in the four car dash over Wilson, Praysner and Bolduc before capturing the opening heat over the same four drivers.

Praysner edged Gold for the win in the second heat.

In the factory stock division, Steve Kent captured his third consecutive feature win holding off John Fragale, who captured both heats.

With another poor turnout in the pure stock division, the three cars at the track teamed with the modifieds for all three races. Points were based on the car's own class.

Randy Hache captured his first feature win while Bill Butler was the top pure stock. Kevin Oicle claimed both heats for the modifieds while Butler led the pure stocks in heat one and Joe Addison in heat two.

The tech team came into play in the stock four division and the checkered flag was passed along following tech inspections after the feature race.

Mike Baraluk, who captured the opening heat, won the feature but was later disqualified after his car failed to meet the weight requirements. Dave King was then awarded the checkered flag.

Fourth place finisher Matt Noel was also disqualified for being under weight.

Eric Brown, who won his first race in the second heat, finished second in the feature.

All results are unofficial pending the competition of all tech inspections. Complete results will be posted on the LIR website when finalized at www.lairdraceway.com.

Action continues next Thursday night with qualifying at 6 p.m. followed by racing at 7 p.m.
