Cougars basketball teams fall short in Hamilton

This weekend, both the men's and women's Cougar Basketball teams took to the road to take on the Mohawk Mountaineers teams in Hamilton.

The women's team played two regular season games, both of which were losses for the Cougars, but saw two very competitive teams struggle to take a commanding lead. 

Two standout players include Mercedes Ryan, who contributed half of the Cougars first quarter points in the first game, and Cassidy Sabourin, who had a team highs in both games.

The men's team also fell short after a compettitive game which ended 26 – 28 for the Mountaineers.

Notable performances from the men's team included Jimmy Thai, who lead the team in scoring, Kevon Clarke, who in his first OCAA game score 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Jacob Lamontange who provided 14 points for the Cougars.

Their second game, which was scheduled for Saturday Jan. 19 was postponed until further notice.  

The Cougars are back in action this weekend as they travel to London to take on the Fanshawe Falcons Saturday Jan 26 and Sunday Jan 27. Both games will be livestreamed here.
