The Sir James Dunn Eagles continue to dominate the local volleyball loop as both the senior and junior Eagles captured the High School Girls Volleyball City Championship on Saturday at White Pines.

The Eagles claimed another senior city crown with a 25-9, 25-17 straight sets win over the Bawating Braves after the Eagles narrowly defeated the St. Basil Saints 25-23, 25-23 for the junior title.

Both Eagles teams went undefeated during the regular season.

The Sault will host the NOSSA AA championships next Saturday at White Pines while the AAA playdowns will be hosted by Sudbury's Notre Dame.

Four teams in each division will compete at White Pines in a round robin tournament with the top two teams advancing to the finals. The junior championship will begin at 5 p.m. while the senior tilt follows at 6:30 p.m.

The NOSSA AA region will gain two entries into the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Associations (OFSAA) playdowns as Sudbury Lo-Ellen Park captured the provincial championship last season, although a local must win in order to advance.
