Highschool basketball playoffs set to begin next week

Korah and Superior Heights picked up wins in senior action on the final day of the regular seasn

Girls high school basketball action continued on Thursday night with games on a pair of fronts at both the junior and senior levels.

In senior action Gracie Sloss had 15 points as the Korah Colts beat the St. Mary’s Knights 48-31.

Cali Elliott added 10 points for the Colts.

Mercedes Mazzuca had 15 points to lead St. Mary’s while Victoria Dunham added nine points.

Thursday’s other senior game saw Superior Heights beat White Pines 55-19.

Alea Nye of Superior Heights led all scorers in the game with 22 points. Breanna Hodkinson chipped in with 11 points.

Alex Dewar led White Pines with seven points.

In junior action, Madison Boucher has 13 points as St. Mary’s beat Korah 30-25. Tianna Buckley added six points for the Knights.

Korah’s Kyler Grisdale led all scorers in the game with 22 points.

In the other junior game on Thursday, Lauren Lefave had 14 points and Emmalie Allard chipped in with 12 as Superior Heights beat White Pines 46-22.

Kaiya Thibault-Jones led White Pines with 11 points.

Playoff action begins on Nov. 6 with semifinal games and the city final at both levels set for Nov. 9 at Korah.
