HOUNDS TALKING TRADES

The Soo Greyhounds are on the verge of completing three separate Ontario Hockey League trades, sources have told SooToday.com. Greyhounds' coach/director of hockey operations John Vanbiesbrouck is reportedly working on deals with the Brampton Battalion, Ottawa 67s and Toronto St. Michael's Majors, according to the SooToday.com sources. * The deal with Brampton would bring local product Joey Biasucci home for a fourth-round draft pick. Biasucci, an 18-year old goalie who won seven games as a rookie with the lowly Battalion last season, is the son of Greyhound co-owner Sam Biasucci. Three other OHL teams have apparently offered fourth-round picks in the year 2004 to Brampton for Biasucci. * The trade with Ottawa would send overage left winger Adam Chapman to the Greyhounds for the 67s' asking price of a fifth-round pick. Chapman was a 22-goal scorer for Ottawa last season. * And after asking Vanbiesbrouck for a trade, it would appear that 19-year old left winger Alan Nolan is headed to the Toronto St. Michael's Majors for a conditional draft pick. Nolan, a local product, has scored four goals and picked up 182 PIM in 117 games over the past two seasons with the Hounds. Because the OHL office has been shut down for holidays since July 1, no trades can be made until the office re-opens on August 1 and an embargo on player exchanges is lifted.
