The Korah Colts captured the championship at the CASS Husky Midget Boys Basketball Tournament on Saturday.
The Colts used 20 points from Kyle Diotte to defeat the Sir James Dunn Eagles 56-49 in the final game at Central Algoma Secondary School. Chris Casagrande added 14 points for the Colts while Ben Ginter drained 13. Anthony Fick led the Eagles attack with 17 points.
In the consolation championship, CASS defeated the Elliot Lake Atoms 38-19. Ryan Hurley led the Huskies with 13 points and Corey Myers added 10. Theo McInnes led Elliot Lake with eight points.
In the fifth place game, the Chelmsford Flyers defeated the Bawating Braves 50-20 as Rio River led the Flyers with 13 points. Jarrett Guzzo and Danny Fremlin led the Braves with six points each.
In games from the preliminary rounds, Elliot Lake beat Bawating 42-31, Korah whipped Elliot Lake 67-30 and 54-24, CASS edged Chelmsford 34-28 and Sir James Dunn defeated CASS 51-33. Korah beat Chelmsford 57-37, Chelmsford edged Elliot Lake 41-38, Bawating nipped CASS 42-38 and Sir James Dunn rolled past Bawating 66-22.
