The Steel City Slam's spring varsity team is coming off a tournament title in Traverse City.
Playing with a shorthanded roster at the event, the team advanced to the title game in the Northern Michigan Spring Classic and faced Howell, Mich.-based Abbey Elite.
After falling behind, the Slam stormed back and took the lead late, holding on for a 55-51 victory.
Zayn Murdoch was named tournament MVP and had 22 points in the championship game.
The spring season has seen the team face competition from areas including Ontario, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
In addition to three tournament titles, the team has a 14-1 record.
