Over the weekend, the Sault Gym Club was back in action at the Tulip City Invitational in Holland, Mich. Local gymnasts came back with 13 medals resulting in two athletes winning their all-around in their respective categories.

At her first American meet, eight-year-old Peyton O'Brien was dynamite. O'Brien placed first on the uneven bars and floor exercise, second on the vault and third on the balance beam. These placings were good enough to crown her as the Xcel Silver (Jr A) All-Around champion.

In the Xcel Gold division (Sr A), Ava Greener was also outstanding. Last weekend, Greener was the silver medalist all-around and was out for gold in Holland. Greener finished the competition with gold in the uneven bars and balance beam, silver in the floor exercise and bronze in the vault. Greener was able to secure the gold all around.

In the same division, 12-year-old Daiveny Pringle did not disappoint.  Pringle was third on the uneven bars, fourth on the floor exercise and sixth on the vault and balance beam. This was good enough for an all-around bronze medal.

In the Xcel Platinum (Sr B) division, Eden Erkkila was the gold medalist on the balance beam, fifth on the uneven bars and tenth on the vault. These results were good enough for a sixth place all-around in the category of 14 athletes.

SSMGC gets a small break from travelling but will be back in action on Feb. 17-19 in Toledo, Ohio, to participate in the Elevate the Stage competition.
