If you’re a fan of martial arts, you may want to attend a large tournament happening on Saturday, May 24 at Superior Heights High School.

Dubbed the Northern Lights Martial Arts Championships, participants will be from the Sault and surrounding areas.

Pinder’s Martial Arts and KMAC of Sudbury are organizing the tournament.

From one of the organizers: “After a seven-year break this martial arts competition is returning back to the city. It is clear that the martial arts community is excited and eager.

“They are proud to be bringing this tradition back to Sault Ste. Marie.”

Roughly 150 participants will compete.

Opening ceremonies will start at 10:30 a.m., with the tournament running throughout the day.

The cost to attend is $5 cash at the door.
