Heading into the game with 10 wins in 10 starts in the Great North Midget League, the North Stars squandered a 5-3 third period lead to fall 6-5 in overtime to the Timmins Majors at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

Despite the setback, the North Stars gain a point from the game with an overtime loss and now sit at 10-0-0-1 and remain in first place in the GNML, three points ahead of Timmins.

On Saturday night, the North Stars opened the two-game series with a 4-2 win.

On Sunday, Zac Torquato led the North Stars attack with two goals and two assists. Michael Sharp added a goal and an assist while Frank D'Addetta and Soo Thunder AAA Bantam call up Sheldon St. Louis scored once. Paul Dupont added two assists.

Timmins led the game after the first period 2-0 before the North Stars responded with a five goal effort in the second period. Timmins held the North Stars in check for the third period.

The North Stars return to action on Wednesday night as they travel to Sudbury to play the Lockerby Nickel Capitals in a rare mid-week game. The North Stars then head north to Kapuskasing for a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday.
