The Braves opened the tournament on Wednesday with a 65-34 loss to Ernestown as Wright and Kyle Gauthier scored nine points each.

The Braves advanced into the provincial championships after claiming the city championship and then winning the Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (NOSSA) championships on Saturday at Central Algoma Secondary School (CASS).

The Eagles fell in two games to St. Michael 25-21, 25-22.

The league, city and NOSSA champion Eagles advanced into the quarterfinal round after finishing with a 2-1 record in their pool during round robin play on Wednesday.

Waterdown captured the provincial championship with a 3-2 win in the best-of-five final over McGregor.

*** WILDCATS CLAIM GOLD:

The Widdifield Wildcats from North Bay, who captured the NOSSA AA championship at White Pines on Saturday, captured the OFSAA gold medal at the AA championships in Goderich on Thursday.
