You can support your local ski patrol while outfitting your family for the upcoming ski and snowboard season at a swap event in November.

The Canadian Ski Patrol Sault Ste. Marie Zone is hosting its annual Ski and Snowboard Swap on Nov. 3 and 4 at the Moose Lodge.

On Friday, Nov. 3 from 3 to 8 p.m., organizers will be accepting good condition snowboard, alpine and nordic ski gear, including helmets, boots, and clothing.

Sales will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual swap is a major fundraiser for local ski patrollers. All members of the Canadian Ski Patrol Sault Ste. Marie Zone are volunteers who provide advanced first-aid care and on-snow evacuation at Searchmont and Hiawatha Highlands, the patrol said in a news release.

They also provide advanced first-aid care to patrons at the GFL Memorial Gardens and community events, such as Rotaryfest.

The Moose Lodge is at 543 Trunk Rd.
