NEWS RELEASE
SAULT COMMUNITY CAREER CENTRE

Find your fit, and start a career in the food service industry!  The Sault Community Career Centre will be hosting an online hiring event from Monday, Sept. 20 to Friday, Oct. 1, for those interested in working in the food service industry.

We have partnered with over 30 local restaurants looking to fill a mix of part-time and full-time positions. Have the chance to choose from a list of employers and jobs - ranging from front-of-house servers to cooks, and everything in between.

John Offidani, one of our employment advisors, has worked closely with some of these restaurant owners, and sees the challenges that they face.

“We recognize that it’s been tough for employers trying to re-open their business and keep up-to-date on regulations. It’s been hard on jobseekers, too, who have gone through three lockdowns and have lost out on work - it’s definitely taken a toll on some people’s mental health and confidence. The idea and goal of this online job fair is to be that connecting bridge between these restaurant employers and the jobseekers. I’d like to see these places get properly staffed again, as well as make it easier for jobseekers who want to re-enter the workforce.”

The Sault Community Career Centre is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to fill the following positions with well-respected local businesses:

  • Assistant managers/supervisors
  • Cooks
  • Kitchen helpers
  • Servers/front of house
  • Bartenders
  • Baristas
  • And many more

To participate, fill out our online application here, and select the top three employers you would like to work for, along with the position(s) you are interested in.
