Jennifer Aelick, Melissa Frech, and Miranda Moffatt would like to extend an invitation to the community of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District to attend Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, which is an event that spreads awareness and offers a time to remember those babies who have gone too soon.
An ‘International Wave of Light’ will consist of everyone lighting a candle, at the same time, to show support to those who have gone through the loss of a pregnancy or infant. If a candle is lit at 7 p.m. in every time zone, there will be a continuous wave of light over the entire world on Oct. 15 in observance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.
Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day takes place on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., with the International Wave of Light taking place at 7 p.m. This free event will be held inside at Sault College Common Link at 443 Northern Ave. E., and provides candleholders and candles, pinwheels, information regarding our peer led support group, personal stories from local families, and refreshments.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Sault College, Stone’s Offiice Plus, O’Sullivan Funeral Home, Jeannette’s Custom Cakes, the Indian Friendship Centre, Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, Canadian Mental Health Association, Showstoppers Event Rentals, Pregnancy Centre, Flowers with Flair, and Trisha Designs for their help in making this event possible.
Please come and join us! For more information, please contact Jennifer at 705-206- 6985 or Miranda at 705-257- 6269.
