Paramedics, volunteer fire services, Ontario Provincial Police and staff from Lady Dunn Health Centre in Wawa donned their hockey equipment and tested their hockey skills in the name of raising funds for the long-term care services and hospital foundation on Feb. 4.

The Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre hosted a large crowd of hockey fans and citizens who raised a total of $4,125.55 for their local hospital.

Sponsors included Wawa Canadian Tire, Donald L. Davidson Fuels, Wilderness Helicopters and Michipicoten First Nation.

A big thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort in organizing, participating and donating to this worthwhile community cause.

A special shout out to the Chapleau players who made the extra effort to attend.
