In her 94th year, on May 31, 2025, at Sault Area Hospital, Alice has peacefully reunited with her beloved son Dan and her nine siblings.
She is remembered by her daughter Lori and her three sons Clarence (Patti), Chris (Stephanie), and Mike (Patty). Loving grandmother/Nana to Nikki (Vince), Ken (Cathy), Tammy (Adam), Jennifer, Ashleigh (Trevor); great grandmother/GG to Felicia (Andrew), Olivia, Atiya, and Noah; and great-great grandmother to OV. As the last of her siblings, Alice rejoins her 4 late brothers Julien, Gerry, Marcel, and Rheal and her 5 late sisters Germaine Cormier, Cecile Cormier (Frenette), Elmire Lefave, Jean Guertin, and Flora Morin.
Of her nine siblings and their spouses, Alice is survived only by her sister-in-law Claire Clement (Marcel). Her memory lives on with many dear friends including Helene Germaine, Faye Villeneuve, Betty Boissineau, Evelyn Dunn, Andrea Gibbs (Gregoire), and Jeannette Tummillo.
Although born in Val Rita ON, Alice raised her family and aged gracefully in Sault Ste. Marie. She was a familiar and cherished presence at Barsanti’s Small Frye, working there as a server for close to 35 years. She was well known for her years of dedicated service volunteering at the F.J. Davey Home and famous among family and friends for her uncanny ability to sing harmony with just about anyone.
Though she was unable to attend in person services in recent years, Alice remained a devout Catholic and long-time member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. For many years, she served on their funeral committee and participated in their Perpetual Adoration as often as she could.
Per Alice’s long-standing wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass in Alice’s honour will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church (114 MacDonald Avenue) on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1pm, with Rev. Michael Omojola officiating.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Vance and Dr. Woolner at SAH, the staff of 3C and 2A at SAH, and the staff at The Finnish Rest Home’s “Kotitalo” who treated her like family.
