ACETI, Ortensia (neé Muto)

Surrounded with the love of her family at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday May 5, 2019 Ortensia passed peacefully at the age of 88; predeceased by her husband Cesare. She will be missed by her daughters Henrietta (Giancarlo), Susie (Luigi), and Sylvia (Joseph). Proud and loving Nanna of Jesse, Anthony, Larissa, Jenna, and Sierra. Predeceased by her siblings; Mario, Diamore, Gina, Luisa, Dora, Maria, and Elvira. Ortensia will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews both in Canada and Italy. Family and friends are invited to visit O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James St., 705-759-8456) on Tuesday May 7, 2019 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday May 8, 2019 at St. Gregory’s Church (71 Estelle St.) at 1:00pm with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery to follow. The family would like to thank Dr. Neil Fam, who performed the first successful cardiac procedure in the world with the use of a Canadian-invented device (MitraClip) on Ortensia at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. As well as her home care givers; Lillian and Mary, her physiotherapist Melissa, the compassionate doctors and nurses at the Sault Area Hospital Emergency and ICU departments, and an added special thanks to long time family doctor, Dr. Bragaglia.
