February 4, 1932 – May 1, 2025
Hilda Marie Adams, age 93, of Thessalon, Ontario, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025.
Born on February 5, 1932, in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Hilda lived a life marked by laughter, generosity and resilience. Over the years, she held many jobs, each one showcasing her work ethic and spirited personality. Her first role in a dairy factory took an unexpected turn when she was asked to manage the office rather than wrap butter—an early sign of her natural leadership and tenacity. She went on to work in real estate offices, sold Tupperware with enthusiasm, and served in various capacities with the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Hilda was married to her beloved husband, Edward Adams, for over 50 years. Together, they raised four sons and created a lifetime of memories. She cherished summers spent on Cockburn Island, adventures across North America and the Caribbean, and above all—sharing the kind of jokes that made you laugh until you cried.
She was a proud mother to Jim, Jeff, Phil, and Doug Adams, and a loving grandmother to Kelly and Jamie (Jim), Austin and Merrick (Jeff), Riley and Maddison (Phil), and Mackenzie and Jordyn (Doug). Hilda was also a dedicated volunteer and a pillar of her community—always willing to lend a hand, organize an event, or brighten someone’s day.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Algoma Manor. You filled Hilda’s final years with love, care, and laughter. She adored you all—and so do we.
