ALEXIUK, Katherine 'Kay'

Born on November 21, 1921 in Saskatchewan, she passed away peacefully on March 18, 2017 in Blind River, ON.  Kay married in 1942 to Constantine “Connie” Alexiuk and they moved to Sudbury, Espanola, Elliot Lake and settled in Blind River.  Pre-deceased by her husband Connie in 1990 and daughter Shirlee Edwards (Donald), she is survived by her children Gordon (Linda) and James (Carla).  Dear grandmother of Dayton, Lance (Lori), Gord Jr (Cherie), Jodi (Aime), Adam (Stephanie), Erin (Nathan), Lauren (Anthony) and great grandmother of Megan, Matthew, Brandon, Colin, Tanner and Zoey.  Not only did Kay golf, curl and play cards, she also found the time to volunteer for the hospital ladies auxiliary, meals on wheels and medical trips and she will always be remembered for her strong sense of community. At her request, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions in Kay’s memory to the St. Saviour’s Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.
