Peacefully passed away at Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Thursday, April 14, 2016, in his 72nd year, after a long and courageous battle. Survived by his mother, Violet Anderson, his sisters Jeanne and Judy, and brother Glen and his wife Keren. Predeceased by his father John and sister Joan. Cherished father of Kim Anderson (Bill), Gary Anderson (Jen), Ricki Newmarch and Cori Dyke who will forever remember his enduring love and support. Proud grandfather of Morgan and Joshua (Kim), Mina (Gary), Aidan and Kyan (Ricki) and Kailyn (Cori). He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews, Clint, Judy, J.D., and Jason, as well as cousins and friends. Known as “Gunner” to close friends, Gary was an esteemed car aficionado, dedicated ‘Dylanologist’, and creator of countless beautiful drawings, carvings and other magical inventions. He will be remembered for his passionate love for his family, his quiet and gentle nature, and kind and generous heart. We will all treasure our everlasting memories of him. Friends are invited to attend at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 12 noon until 2:30 pm. Memorial service to follow in the chapel at 3 pm.
