ANDREWS, William ‘Bill’

Peacefully with his wife and daughters by his side on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Parry Sound Hospital at the age of 88. Beloved wife and best friend of Amy for 65 years.  Devoted and caring father of the late Ronald Andrews (Irene), Wendy Robertson (Ralph) and Kathryn Andrews-Smith (Peter). Much loved Papa and the best story teller of Stacie Robertson (Alan Wilson), Christine McMaster (Jason), Dr. Andrew Robertson, Emily Smith (Maciek), David Andrews and Jason Andrews (Michelle). Great-Papa of Grant Wilson, Riley Andrews and Parker McMaster. Predeceased by his siblings Kathleen Shields (late Bob), Wilna Lawrence (late Arnold), Jean Grasley (late John), Lawrence (Lois) and Donald (Betty). Brother-in-law of the late Ted Kobinski (Janet) and Valerie Lavery (Barry). Predeceased by his parents William Robert Andrews and Catherine Charlotte Lawrence. Bill will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Born and raised in Bruce Station, Ontario. Bill had a long career with the Canadian Pacific Railway which brought him to MacTier, Ontario where he eventually retired. The stories of the "side hill gougers", his gentle demeanour and his great sense of humour will always be remembered. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 12 pm at St. James the Great Catholic Church in MacTier, Ontario. A memorial service will be held in Sault Ste. Marie at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre at a later date. Memorial contributions to Hospice West Parry Sound  or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
