On Wednesday June 4th, 2025, after battling cancer for over nine years, Tuulikki (Kuisma) Armstrong passed peacefully in her 84th year, on her terms, with family by her side to her final rest.

Beloved wife of Clifford James Armstrong (predeceased 1971). Loving mother of Derek Armstrong of Sault Ste Marie, Craig Armstrong (Jan Reynolds) of Toronto and Anita Leeman Torres of Los Angeles CA (predeceased 2023). Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth Armstrong and Alex Armstrong of Toronto, Kirstin Armstrong (James McPhee) and Brianna Armstrong of Sault Ste Marie. Great grandmother of Sarah, Kalle and Mikayla.

Dear daughter of August and Ida Kuisma (predeceased), survived by sister Hilkka Collison (Jim predeceased) of Sudbury, and Taimi St. Michael (Ray) of British Columbia (both predeceased).

Tuulikki was born in Toronto and employed by Bell Canada before moving to Espanola, ON with the telephone company and married her husband and raised a family. Later in life she moved to Sault Ste Marie where she enjoyed working at the Ontario Finnish Rest Home for 16 years.

Tuulikki loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the love of her life. She also enjoyed her dog Sisu, working outdoors in the garden and birdwatching.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the recent personal support workers and nurses of the Sault Area Hospital, the staff at the Oncology Unit as well as Dr. Nicki Apostle, Dr. Karen Booth and Dr. Heather O’Brien. A great thank you to the volunteer and nursing staff at ARCH Hospice in the last days of her life.

At the request of Tuulikki, there will be no funeral visitation or service. Special thanks to O’Sullivan Funeral Home for the handling of cremation. Internment at Cold Springs Cemetery, Manitoulin Island at a later date.
