It is with broken hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of David Barlow on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the age of 54. Beloved husband to Danielle Benoiton and devoted father to Jesse, Zacharie, and Adam. Dear brother of Janice Brown (Ted) and treasured Godfather of Taya (Matt), Thomas, and Everal Longworth. Predeceased by parents Jack and Fay Barlow, sister Wendy O’Laney and brother Tim Barlow (Lily). His sudden loss is unfathomable also to so many more relatives and friends.

David was raised in Iron Bridge Ontario and graduated from Blind River’s W.C. Eaket Secondary School.  His lifelong passions included hockey, fishing and hunting.  David worked in the autoglass industry which is how the Longworth trio came into the picture.  In the midst of that, he tried his hand opening a second-hand store called Barley’s for a year or so. That is where Danielle walked into the story.  A few years later David and Danielle moved to North Bay and he attended Canadore College.  After graduating with top honours, he worked in a few different business jobs including insurance.  He became a rep with a fishing and hunting supply company covering all over northeastern Ontario.  He said that this job made him really miss fishing and hunting but he kept it up even after Jesse was born.

Then Danielle demanded he quit when they had twins and he played Mr. Mom for four years.  He did his online training for Supply Chain Management and finally landed a job with Voyageur Airways, supplying their activities throughout the world until his last days. David continued his passion for hockey as an avid Maple Leaf fan and volunteered his time managing Jesse’s hockey team for a few years.  His contributions to our lives are innumerable.  He is gone way too soon.

A memorial service to celebrate David’s life will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, North Bay, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 7:00 pm with a reception to follow. If desired, here are some charities chosen by his family:
