BAXTER, Gladys (nee Eling)

Gladys (Eling) Baxter, age 89, of Allendale and formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, passed away quietly with family at her side, on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
 
Growing up Gladys’ family moved quite often but she spent most of the past 80 years in the Sault Ste. Marie area. She worked as a loan officer for many years at Central Savings Bank. In her free time, she loved to be outdoors, golfing and water skiing in the summers and cross country skiing in the winter.
 
Gladys was a strong woman and a devoted Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a sharp sense of humor that will be missed.
 
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood Baxter in 2010, her son Daniel Baxter in 2017, and her sister, Betty (Weber) Lochart in 2003.
 
She is survived by her daughters: Jeri (Carl) Moll, Nancy (Ivan) Rosset, Krissy Baxter; daughter-in-law, Donna Baxter: grandchildren: Jodie Clark, Jill (Kevin) Weber, Cami (Jason) Duram, Travis (Elizabeth) Moll, Nina (Jesse) Kamps, Drew Moll, Shannon Rosset, Eric (Viviam) Rosset, Lily Baxter-Wright; eleven great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
 
The family is planning to have a service in the summer to remember and celebrate her life. Although she passed of Covid, her wishes were that memorial contributions be given in memory of her son to Hospice of the Eastern UP, or to a cancer research or hospice of your choosing.
